By nature, they were designed to remove contaminants from the water that have accumulated over time (“bioaccumulation”), such as heavy metals or pesticides. Therefore, a natural byproduct of the cultured pearl farming industry is a symphony of man and nature. Even incremental environmental changes affect both the quality and size of the pearl produced by every oyster. Likewise, it is in the best interest of the pearl farm industry to care for the Earth’s waters. Care for nature and nature will return the favor. With the birth of cultured pearl farming, wild oyster populations were saved from the devastating effects of the natural pearl farming industry due to over-farming, making cultured pearls a sustainable option for jewelry.

In this era of computerization, the goldsmithing trade is slowly dying each year. Growing up as a self-taught jewelry maker from the age of 12, our founder, Angelica, was always quietly steeped in the jewelry industry as a hobby. However, it took a more serious turn when she and her significant other, Wolfgang, sought jewelers to have wedding and engagement rings made. They encountered jewelers who were more interested in money than in understanding their personal story. Additionally, the skilled goldsmiths capable of handling the intricate work they desired were also dwindling, as many had retired or passed away. This experience highlighted a significant gap in the industry. Angelica felt somewhat responsible for the decline in the trade, knowing that her field, Physics, had helped usher in the digital age, which, in turn, had contributed to the trade's gradual disappearance. With Wolfgang's support and encouragement, Angelica realized it was time to become a full-fledged certified goldsmith to fill this gap and do her part to preserve the craft. Wolfgang's inspiration and belief in her vision were pivotal in motivating her to establish the jewelry business.

Today, our founder stands as both a certified physicist and a goldsmith, a rare combination that brings a fresh perspective to the industry. Angelica’s firsthand experience with inadequate customer service while seeking her own engagement and wedding rings adds a new dimension to her approach, merging technical precision with a profound understanding of clients' needs.
